Want to know more about adopting with Staffordshire County Council?
Come along to an Adoption Information Meeting
We're holding adoption meetings to give you the information you need about adopting with us and what it’s really like. The sessions are friendly, relaxed and are led by our experienced social workers. You can come along, ask any questions you may have and then take all the information away with you. There's also the option to have a confidential chat with one of our social workers after the event.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for adopters for children of all ages. But we have a particular need for adopters for sibling groups of 2 or 3 children, children with additional needs and Fostering for Adoption.
Are you ready to start your journey?
Before you enquire to us you need to have a spare room, be in a stable financial situation and have considered the costs and financial implications of raising a child.
You can adopt if you are single but if you are in a relationship it needs to be stable and you need to have lived together for at least 2 years.
If you smoke this won't automatically rule you out but please note we do not take applications for anyone wishing to adopt children aged 0-5 years old if they smoke. If you have recently given up smoking you need to wait until you have given up for at least 6 months before applying to adopt with us but you can still attend the information meeting.
If you would like to attend one of our information sessions please book your place so we know to expect you. When we receive your booking we will try and contact you by phone, if we are unable to do so further information will be sent to you via email.
