Support and Opportunities

You will have your own Social Worker who will visit on a regular basis, and who will supervise, support and advise you.
You will receive a weekly allowance when a child is placed with you to cover the cost of caring for the child.
You will receive bedroom furniture and equipment, if required, relevant to the child's needs
Monthly Support Groups are held in different locations throughout the County where there will be an opportunity for you to meet other Foster Carers.
You will be expected to attend ongoing Post Approval Training throughout your Fostering career.
You will have an annual Review which looks at the work you have done during the proceeding 12 months.
Staffordshire operates a ‘Payment for Skills' scheme which recognises and financially rewards Carers development of their skills.
You will have the opportunity to attend social events with other Carers throughout the year, such as an annual Barbeque and Christmas Party.
You will have the opportunity to undertake NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People if you wish to do so.
