What support will you receive?
Your social worker will support you with visits and telephone contact throughout the process.
This includes:
- completion of your assessment and presentation of the report to the Adoption Panel.
- considering children for whom a placement with you would be appropriate.
- before a child is placed with you an assessment will be made of the likely Adoption Support you and the child may require in the future.
- supporting you once the child is placed with you.
- completion of your application to Court to adopt the child or children.
- after the Adoption Order is made, there is an opportunity for you to request advice and support if you so wish.
- in addition following your approval as Adopters, there is the opportunity for you to attend additional training courses.
Adoption has life long implications for all concerned.
