Support you will recieve

Your social worker will support you with visits and telephone contact throughout the process.

This includes:

  • completion of your assessment and presentation of the report to the Adoption Panel.
  • considering children for whom a placement with you would be appropriate.
  • before a child is placed with you an assessment will be made of the likely Adoption Support you and the child may require in the future.
  • supporting you once the child is placed with you.
  • completion of your application to Court to adopt the child or children.
  • after the Adoption Order is made, there is an opportunity for you to request advice and support if you so wish.
  • in addition following your approval as Adopters, there is the opportunity for you to attend additional training courses.

Adoption has life long implications for all concerned.

Staffordshire work in partnership with After Adoption to deliver adoption support services.

You will be given more information about the support available as you go through the process. For information on support after adoption please read the document on 'Services to Adoptive Families' by clicking here?
