You can show us during the home assessment and through participating in the Preparation training course.
- By being open and honest and showing that you are willing to learn.
- By telling us what you have learnt from your own life experiences.
- By thinking about how this can help you to care for a child
- By letting us know what you know about children and how well you understand their needs. You will need to be able to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of children and we will look at your experience with children. If you do not have direct experience of children you may wish to investigate ways in which you can obtain this experience.
- By what other people say about you – we ask you to nominate referees who know you well and can comment on how you relate to children so that they can tell us whether they think you would make a good adoptive parent.
